I thought I would never find something that have me obsessed like playing Dota 2. Whenever I play the game, I was always extremely focused and would forget to drink water and have meals between games. I am not proud of the ridiculous number of hours I spent playing this game. However, I love the way it makes me forget about the world around me and concentrate on it like nothing else matters. The only problem was that it was an unproductive way of spending my time and I gradually managed to stop playing it. Yet, I miss playing it.
Recently, I started learning software engineering and found myself in a similar situation when I am learning and writing codes. I would spend hours sitting in front of my computer eagerly finding solutions to problems, forgetting to notice the daylight slowly going away. I discovered the same feeling I had with Dota 2 when I am coding, and I feel productive doing it. I want to do it professionally. So here I am, putting myself out there for programming opportunities regardless of the love I have for my current job.
I was born and raised in Yangon, largest city in Myanmar. I came to the United States at the age of 19 to pursue college education. After four years, I graduated with degrees in Business Management and Psychology. Building upon the IT experience I had at Ohio Wesleyan University as a student worker, I joined Wendy’s International as a Command Center Analyst immediately after graduation. I joined Chipotle’s corporate IT team for the same position after three years at Wendy’s. It has been a great journey so far for me personally and professionally. I have grown and learned immeasurably. Yet, being an insatiable person for knowledge, I always welcome new learning opportunities and challenges.
